Nina Buckless is a fiction writer and poet. Short stories or poems have appeared in Tin House, Santa Monica Review, Absent, Georgetown Review, Burrow Press Review, Unsaid, Midwestern Gothic, Big Muddy Review and elsewhere. Her short story “Deer” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
Nina received her MFA from the Helen Zell Writers’ Program and was granted a Zell Postgraduate Fellow in Prose at the University of Michigan. She was the recipient of a Civitas Fellowship and taught poetry in Detroit Public Schools with InsideOut Detroit for two years.
Nina is a veteran of Jim Krusoe’s ongoing advanced fiction workshop in Santa Monica, California. Nina received two scholarships to attend the Fiction Writers Workshop at Community of Writers, Squaw Valley, California.
She has written two novels, a collection of short stories and a chapbook. Currently, she is writing a new novel.
